Seemed like an excellent night. Out of the north window of the addition I could see ALL of the stars of the Little Dipper. So, I went out and lokked around for about 30 minutes. I was especially interested in seeing the Rosetta Nebula. I have only seen it once, the night before Kyle was born, December 31st, 1997. I easily found the Jewel Box, but there was no hint of nebulosity. I kept checking from time to time hoping that my eyes would adjust. They didn't. Actually, it was very difficult to find Monceres so I guess it wasn't that good of a night afterall.

I was able to see the Beehive (M44), Double Cluster and Andromeda (M31) with the naked eye so it was pretty good seeing. I quickly ran through several of the favs: Orion Nebula (M42), Crab Nebula (M1), M81 & M82, and (although not a fav) M41. I also caught Saturn at low power before it went below the horizon. Too much atmosphere wiggle. Titan was not in sight but Tethys was low and in front (I think).
