According to this log, it has been nearly a year since I have logged anything. I couldn't sleep so I went out to view the sky.

It was pretty obvious that Taurus had some new "stars". I knew the very bright one was Jupiter. Nice view. It had just finished the eclipse of a tiny point of light 45 degrees from the orbital plane of the Galilean moons. I suspect it was one of the other moons but it might just have been a star.

The other bright "star" was Saturn. I got a good look at Saturn although my focuser was acting up. I also noticed the rubber on the lenses was getting dryed out [should I use Armour-All?].

The bright "star" in the east I assumed to be Venus but through the scope it was obviously a star and not a planet. After stepping back I realized it was Spica. At this point the sun started washing stuff out and some really large mosquitos were biting my ankles so I stopped.

It was a good feeling to know that I could look at the sky and notice there were stars out of place. That's what I started out to do three years ago. It is definitely time for a new scope.
